Daffodil

I made this card after I took the daffodil picture that’s in my previous post, although it doesn’t hold a candle to its inspiration.  The daffodil is from the retired Perfect Petals set.  When I was trying to decide on a background stamp I thought to take a look at Well Worn Words.  Well, gosh, it was just what I needed!  I watercolored  the daffodil on watercolor paper.  The background is stamped in Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla and I used Moss, Banana and Apricot for my other papers.  The lace is plain old Mrs. Wright’s hem tape.  You can get it wherever sewing notions are sold.  This color is called Apricot.

Here’s a picture of Mrs. Wright and her hem tape:

Thud (sound of my jaw hitting the floor)! This is absolutely lovely! Your flower cards are always some of my very favorites…your shading is always so perfect.

I so wish I had that set of stamps as daffodils are one of my mothers favorite spring blooms (she’s like you, she has bulbs planted in every conceivable nook and cranny of her garden).

    TFS!

Wow! What a beautiful card! I love how you can take “old” stamps and make them look fresh and new! I never would have thought to use that punch with a pretty flowery card either. Just a fantastic job! Thanks for sharing with us.
