Simply Colorful

Well…they’re colorful. Really, I just started with the yellow one, trying to make a birthday card for someone who likes bright yellow. She likes skunks, too, but I don’t have any skunks so I settled on the yellow. I thought while I had the Scatter Sunshine wheel all inked up with white craft I might as well roll out a couple more backgrounds on different colors. I also thought I’d use some of my new Magenta that Libby sent me and, even though there’s flowers in the background, I wanted for a change to do a focal image other than flowers. By the way, the middle card is Magenta but it looks an awfully lot like Lovely Lilac in the photo. I don’t know whether I’ll wind up using this for the birthday card. I like the pretty colors all lined up in a row but then, I’m not going to give her all three cards. I guess I’m trying to talk myself into liking these cards more than I do.
I did use my new Tsukineko glue pad to cover the hearts with glitter and it worked like a charm. The instructions said that the pad will have a tendency to dry out so I saturated a square just big enough for the heart stamp. I stamped the heart with ink first, then used the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig for positioning the second stamping with the glued-up (?) heart. One thing to watch out for when using this glue pad is slippage, but that’s easy to keep under control by using the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to hold the stamp in place. The SAMJ will also hold the paper down while you lift the stamp away from the paper. After all, it is glue and certainly will stick somewhat.
I’ll be back next for Ruby Tuesday. I hope your week gets off to a great start!
Supplies (all stamps, papers and inks are Stampin’ Up!):
Stamps: Simply Said, Scatter Sunshine jumbo wheel, Seeing Spots, Curvy Verses
Paper: Yo Yo Yellow, Marvelous Magenta, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Same as above plus Craft White and Basic Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Tsukineko glue pad, Prisma glitter, scallop scissors, ticket corner punch, Scotch brand mounting tape

I am on the fence about that glue pad….But these cards are SO cute!
Well I like these cards alot - I think they’re really cute & fun! But wow that really doesn’t look like magenta!
These cards are adorable! I love the sweet sugary colors!
Leslie, these are SO fun! I love the bright colors! Just what I needed to brighten my not so exciting Monday morning. I have to say that I also have this glue pad…and have yet to use it…sigh. Once I got it, it looked a little daunting…but you make it look fun and easy!! I will make it a goal to try it this week! Thanks for the inspiration!!
WOW! Those puppies really pop off the screen. They’re so fun and colorful!
Very pretty! A virtual rainbow of cards! Love the sponging around the edges with the white craft ink. And thanks for the advice on using that glue pad. I might even finally use it myself now. BTW, I don’t have any skunks either. :o) Linda
Love those bright bright, sunshiney cards. I love using white ink in wheels! I am all about the white ink suddenly. I must try sponging with it like you did as i haven’t done that in a while. Those are very pretty! Nice job. That glue pad sounds fun to use. Those colours would be neat with the Stinkin’Cute set too.
So Pretty Leslie!!! I LOVE the bright look of these with the glitter!!!
oooh, that yellow card is SO PRETTY! It really just perks you up just to glance at it! Lovely! And I soooo love those glue pads! I need to find a refill for mine, cuz it DOES tend to dry out, and i don’t want to purchase new pads all the time….do you know where to get a refill by itself?? please email me if you do! Meanwhile, great job… those three cards all lined up are perfect!

These cards are super sweet Leslie! I really like how you wheeled the background in white craft. It really helps soften the brightness…but not overly so! I bet these babies just sparkle IRL!
