Ruby Tuesday: A Note From Stella
This week’s Ruby Tuesday card is not much more than a big flower and a slightly curly bow. I did stamp some Wild Rose leaves on the circle tag along with the “thinking of you” but they barely show. I used my new from SU! scallop circle punch and the 1 3/8″ circle punch for the tag. I punched a 1/4″ hole in the tag and pulled the ribbon through from the back to tie the bow so the tag would lay nicely flat on the card. When I tied the bow I held the card upside down which somehow makes the bow turn out better. It’s not as pretty as the “bunny ears” method for bow tying but it doesn’t take nearly as much ribbon, either. Once the bow was tied I heated it with my heat gun just until it curled a little bit.
To allow the contrasting border along the top without covering any of this giant flower I used my craft knife to cut along the edge of the one petal and slipped the border behind it. Large images like this on designer paper can be a challenge when you’re loathe to cover them. I could have cut off more of the left side of the flower without compromising it too much, but I decided to let the flower have center stage this time.
My next project will be to clean my stamp room. There must be some place I can fit in all these new toys and the ones coming by the end of the week. I think some serious purging is in order. I hope it won’t be too long before I emerge from the chaos… Happy Ruby Tuesday!
Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts sentiment, Wild Rose leaves barely visible on tag
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, BasicGrey Stella Ruby
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Burgundy wide organdy ribbon (retired SU!), SEI pearl brads, 1 3/8″ circle punch, SU! scallop punch, 1/4″ hand held circle punch

Beautiful card and your bow is soooooooooo cute!
WOW! this is stunning, Leslie! I love how that flower is front and BOLD! The tag and bow are perfect, as are those brads! Oh heck I just love the whole stinkin’ thing!
This is so pretty, I think one of my favorite Ruby Tuesdays! I’ve never tried heating the ribbon, I have to do that one of these days (assuming I ever stamp again…!) And still need to clean your room, aye? Guess I didn’t inspire you as much last week as you thought. And btw, mine is still only half done, boo hoo.
Ah….purging. Much needed chore here.
I love what you do on Ruby Tuesdays. It’s a highlight of my day and today was no exception. TFS!
This card is just stunning! Love every inch of it! Deborah
Beautiful card girl!!!That bow is so sweet!
My goodness! I don’t think I would have a clue how to design a card for such a large floral image, but you did so with flying colors (pun intended). Love those pretty gem brads and that clever little cut-away feature at the top of the flower. And I must commend you on using a bow technique that doesn’t use a lot of ribbon. I know how important it is to conserve your ribbon inventory. :o) Linda
I LOVE the ribbon, tag and brads…and of course the paper!! This is sooo beautiful! Stella Ruby shines again!
Wow, you really know how to make this paper shine! You brought out that big beautiful flower and added some great elements to get a fantastic card!
How beautiful!! You and Stella go hand in hand! Love the punch, brads, layout! Just gorgeous!
What a great card, love that giant flower
This is absolutely lovely! I love everything about this card…great job!
Wow…….Stella is again so gorgeous! Thanks for not covering much of her, but adding such a wonderful scallop tag and beautiful bow. I just love my new scallop punch too and am off to upload on SCS another new card using the punch. Darn, but my crystal circle brads are BG….I thought that is what you used on your card until I read the supply list. TFS Stella again
Another STUNNING card!!! Couldn’t it be Ruby Tuesday (and) Wed., Thur, Fri,Sat…etc? Just beautiful!

Simply Gorgeous!!! Love the last few cards also….so pretty. Congrats on the design team. Can’t wait to see the new stamps and your creations.
Beautiful work!!
Love how you cut around that gorgeous flower to place the border behind it so that it needn’t share any of the center stage. Another beauty, Leslie. You are a genius!
Theres just something about that card I love. It makes me think of Wallpaper. Trudy
