Essentials

Published by leslierich at 9:40 pm under Cards, Stampin' Up! projects

EssentialsThis is the Stampin’ Up! Level 1 hostess set, Sidekick Sayings.  I earned it by overspending but I wasn’t sure how much I really cared for it.  I feel differently now that I’ve actually used it.  It makes for a very quick card and sometimes that’s one of the “grand essentials of happiness”.  Well…maybe one of the lesser essentials…

I stamped it in Basic Brown and colored the leafy stem with More Mustard, Really Rust and Garden Green markers.  I shadowed it with my Pale Plum marker.  The edges of the main image panel are lightly sponged with Blush Blossom.  That’s it — main image done!

Wanting to play with some Fall colors, I used my almost new Flair Designs Autumn Splendor papers.  I love all the color choices it gave me.  That was the most difficult part of making this card — decisions!  I did go ’round and ’round on that for a while.  In the end it still came together fairly quickly with a simple layout and some ribbon and eyelets.  Not too fancy but it’s colorful!  Take care and have a wonderful day!

Stamps:  Sidekick Sayings

Paper:  Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Whisper White, Flair Designs Autumn Splendor DP

Ink:  Basic Brown, markers in More Mustard, Really Rust, Garden Green & Pale Plum

Accessories:  Groovy Guava double stitched ribbon, Making Memories eyelets, Scotch brand dimensional mounting tape

I haven’t liked that stamp at all, but you made it look AWESOME! Hmmmm, maybe I have time to earn just ONE MORE level one and add this to my order. :) Simply beautiful coloring!

I really love the colors on this gorgeous card! You even made me go check out that Autumn Splendor paper. The Guava stitched ribbon is perfect here. Linda

I have this set and haven’t be very creative with it. Your card and color choices remind me about what’s missing in Hawaii; fall foliage. :D Very lovely, Leslie.

Hi Leslie…this is such a pretty card! This set does look like a great one to make a quick simple card! Of course, your cards look anything but simple, they are always gorgeous, right down to the last little detail!!!

By the way I have a new blog…AND I’ve been tagged…AND I’m supposed to TAG 7 people, to tell us 7 random things about yourself…so, TAG, you’re it = )!
