Three Cool Guys
There’s something about this paper that reminds me of pajamas. I think I’m having a flashback to the Sears Christmas Catalog that came to the house every year when I was little. We received both Montgomery Ward and Sears catalogs. Mom mostly ordered from Montgomery Ward because it was more economical but, oh, that Sears catalog…they had the best toys! When I was older it was the clothes that caught my eye — mohair sweaters and shoes of every color. When the catalogs expired I made paper dolls from the models, searching through the pages for whole images (all their arms and legs intact) and clothes that would “fit” them. Anyway, when I look at this I can’t stop thinking of the Christmas themed flannel pajamas that were always in those catalogs.
I bought this Festive Favorites set last year. Loved it much but used it little. It was very popular. I’ve concluded I simply have too many stamps. Yes, I’ll admit it. I just scrolled through almost a year’s worth of blog posts and I’ve rarely used the same stamp twice. I’m still trying to catch up with all the stamps I haven’t used yet. This little snowman tag is a first timer. I’ll be using this set again soon, as well as a new BasicGrey Christmas set and my SU! Season of Joy set. I’m determined to use this BasicGrey Figgy Pudding paper this year, too.
I sparkled up the snowmen with my Spica clear glitter pen. That’s about the only detail that’s not apparent in the photo so I’ll just list ingredients below. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
Stamps: Festive Favorites
Paper: Soft Sky, River Rock, Whisper White, BasicGrey Figgy Pudding designer paper
Ink: Basic Black, Ruby Red, markers for coloring
Accessories: Soft Sky double stitched ribbon, Moss gingham ribbon, swirl clip, ticket corner punch, brads, Scotch brand dimensional mounting tape

What a sweet card. I didn’t buy that set but I really do like it. Yep, that paper can bring memories of flannel jammies. And since it’s getting cooler every morning, here, flannel jammies sound pretty nice right now.
You use the most interesting colors. I haven’t quite put the finger on why your stuff rocks but it does!! Love this and all your creations.
Fantastic card! I have been trying to decide how to use that paper…love your idea
SO cute - loving that Basic Grey paper!!
Wow, this is great! And I agree, I must have seen that same catalog with those pajamas! LOL Thanks for the FABULOUS card!!!
That’s a nice card!!!
Love your card! It’s almost as if those stamps were MADE for that BG paper! And yes, I remember those catalogs too. And now that you mention it, that paper reminds me of pajamas too!
So adorable– yes they remind me of warm, flannel p.j.’s also!!! Love just about everything on this!!!
Love the paper, love the stamps, love the layout, love the story!!! TFS!
How cute! I agree that the paper does indeed look like a pj in a SEARS catalog (we never got MW) in the good ole days - maybe with tinier snowflakes or white dots and some thin stripes? My brother and I would turn each page very carefully and take a minute to assess the toys and point to the one we thought the other liked the best. I did that with my two boys as well.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane. “Magical!”
very cute tags and love the papers, look forward to seeing what else you do with them!
This caard just makes me warm…Love it!!
Oh you are so right! That paper could definitely be some very cool flannel pajamas! I’m waiting for my BasicGrey papers to arrive - hopefully before Christmas. :o) Super cute Christmas card, and congrats on using another set! That stamp is a great match for the snowmen in the paper. Linda
Super cute card Leslie, LOVE all the little snowman and the dp is just perfect with your layout. Great card, Jennifer
OOOOOH this is so sweet Leslie!! I love the 3 lil’ snowman tags you did, LOVE it with the paper, so darling!
Love this card! The tag snowmen are adorable and are perfect with that dp.
Your Festive Favorites tags go perfectly with your BG Figgy Pudding “Pajama” designer paper. Off to see your other posts I missed. We did have a great time in Seattle with the kids and LOVED The Nutcracker at the Seattle Center. Sure gets you in the holiday spirit. I have never seen so many little girlie girls all dressed up in their finest :-). Nancy
AAAAAACK this is cute overload! I love the little tags with that paper! Darling!
This is so darn adorable! I just love how the tags match that cute snowman paper, what a wonderful card.
This is the cutest snowman card, Leslie!! The snowman tags match the paper so well, and I love this card!!
So adorable! This layout and the cute DP gave this set a whole new look!! Everything you do is so fresh, fun, and just fab - can’t quite put my finger on it either but keep em’ coming!!! Those Sears catalogs were the best, eh?
OMG, I haven’t heard Montgomery Ward mentioned in years! You just brought back a flood of memories. Oh, and your card was great too!
Oh tell me … were you raised in the wheatfields and cattle ranches of NW Oklahoma??! Surely you were! We had those very same catalogs … and honestly … I think I must have had pajamas that were incredibly close to Figgy Pudding prints! *gasp* Sometimes, Leslie … I find it so hard to believe that being raised across the USA from one another … we have shared so many same/similar experiences and thoughts. Wow! BTW … these snowmen are proof positive of what I just said! Happy Shopping for the Holidays! ~Tex
This is such a sweet card - I love it! And I can just picture you cutting out paper dolls from the catalog! How fun!
