Best Wishes in Blue
Thank goodness for a nice piece of designer paper when you need a card in a hurry. I thoroughly enjoy stamping but the only thing stamped on this card is the pretty sentiment from Flourishes’ Many Sentiments. Still, I had the satisfaction of putting it together myself, and that counts for something.
My paper is BasicGrey Periphery, the 6 x 6 pad which is perfect for card making because the patterns and images are scaled down to a more workable size. You can see a nice selection of 6 x 6 pads here, including some of the newest BasicGrey collections. I chose this paper today because I finally got my hands on some of the May Arts sheer ribbon from Flourishes and the colors are a perfect match. Oh, my! If only the photo could show how this ribbon feels — silky, supple and sublime! I just noticed they have it in chocolate, too. Be still, my heart!
My very simple card also uses Stampin’ Up!’s hardware and some self-adhesive paper roses from Wal-Mart. Crystal Stickles added life and light to the roses — amazing what a little sparkle can do.
I’m glad you could stop by for a minute today while you’re out visiting. I hope you have a good rest of the week. Take care!

This is gorgeous Leslie! I love the flowers you added, so fun!!
this is a beautiful, gorgeous card. I don’t think I have this particular paper from Basic Grey but after seeing this, it will be on its way. Thanks for such a pretty card and inspiration.
Gorgeous Leslie!!
Oh my I thought the bird was a stamp!!!It’s beautiful!!!
Such beautiful paper, you wouldn’t want to cover that up at all, love the flowers with the ribbon too!
Oh Leslie, I love the paper, the colors, and that lovely ribbon…all so elegant! A perfect card!
What a lovely, elegant card, Leslie! The design may appear simple, but as always you display your talents for proportion and balance. Love those paper roses and wide sheer blue ribbon (which I have). And thank you for making me go get my Periphery pad out again and look through it. Maybe I can use it along with the inspiration from that Meijer Gardens blue butterfly. Linda
Holy WOW - this is absolutely beautiful, so elegant and rich. I love the flowers and the organdy, and the hodge podge was the perfect finishing touch!!
Beautiful! I love that paper and it makes a nice contrast against the silver frame. That ribbon does look really nice!
Oh gosh, how stunning!!! Periphery is one of my favorite packs of BG paper –just love it!! And I see you got the new hardware — I regret not having it — it is just gorgeous here!!! And I couldn’t agree more about that sheer ribbon — I LOVE it — it so far surpasses what I typically used as organdy — fabulous card — and not stamping is A-OK in my book — good for you!!!
Just gorgeous and that paper is so very perfect!!
Beautiful, beautiful ribbon, DP, roses, sentiment and hardware. I have it all, but the ribbon and sentiment……hmmmmm, you are giving me ideas…..again
TFS
BTW, the ribbon from Flourishes looks like a must have….lol!
Beautiful card! Can see how soft the ribbon must be. Sheer ribbon is one of my favourites - there, but not overpowering.
very pretty
Sooooo pretty….
Blue and green are my favorite colors so I LOVE this card! And these shades are the colors for my wedding…so I like it even more, if that’s possible. I’m going to have to get some of that ribbon. Beautiful job.

Hello Leslie,
This card is just beautiful, as are your others. It is especially beautiful that you post it so graciously. Your little corner of the crafting world makes my day!
Kind regards,

Oh, Leslie, it’s beautiful! The things you can do with paper and ink! Even if it’s only a little ink this time.
