Soft Sympathy
This is the card I would have posted yesterday in lieu of my Coloring Today tutorial were it not for that darn headache. I’d like to thank you all for your well wishes. When I get one of those headaches I usually wake up with it in the morning, it lasts all day and is a full body experience. I’ve never found anything that fully alleviates it, whether over the counter or prescription. But enough about that…I’m all better now and it’s nothing but a bad memory.
My card is about as near the antithesis of coloring as it gets with stamping, which is why I wanted to share it yesterday — no coloring post, so a no-coloring card. I used stamps from the Whipper Snapper sets, Blossoms & Butterflies and Blooming Expressions by Anna Wight to make a soothing sympathy card with a touch of sweetness. The leaves are stamped repeatedly in River Rock and True Thyme. There are both a solid image leaf stamp and an outline stamp in the set. I stamped the outline over two of the solid images. The butterflies float among the leaves in PTI’s Sweet Blush Palette ink. I sponged around the panel edges with River Rock which is one of the most restful colors I’ve ever come across. If there were a pink pastel companion as soothing, I believe it would be Sweet Blush.
The colors are carried quietly through the soft stripe of the designer paper and SU!’s River Rock stitched grosgrain to finish the card without shouting over the main image — all peace and calm.
Thank you for sharing your time with me today. I hope we can visit again tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

Glad you are feeling better today. Your card is lovely. And the picture of the bee is spectacular!
So glad to hear you are feeling better. This is a beautiful card! Love the softness of the colors and the whole “feel” of the card. I just got these two sets, and I also realize they fit perfectly in the Nestabilities Double-Ended Tags. Cool! Thanks for all your wonderful inspiration!
My daughter has those type of headaches and her only cure is to sleep in a dark room for most of the day! Glad you are feeling better.
I love this soft and serene sympathy card…your colors are great together w/that dp.
Pinky
Lovely …. just lovely! You’re so right about the colors being so very soothing. And they’re just perfect together, too!
Headaches are NO fun… I get them too, but usually can lessen their severity with Excedrin Migraine if I take it when I feel one comin’ on. Ugh….. Glad you’re feeling better!!
Glad you’re feeling better. I too get bad headaches/migraines…never did until last summer…weird how they just pop up all of a sudden
I love your card…you’re right about your color choices…it is very soothing and peaceful.

Lovely. Thanks for sharing! I must concur with SweetMissDaisy - Excedrin Migraine helps me tremendously! Hope you are better now and avoid repeat headaches!!
Glad you’re feeling better today!
Your card is beautiful, Leslie. It is so soft and soothing — perfect for a sympathy card.
Soft, pretty, soothing …just the remedy for that headache! I hope you are feeling better!
Glad you’re feeling better, today. For years I suffered with migraine headaches and I would block out *every* ray of sun coming into the room and try to sleep - usually impossible, but light of any kind was a killer. Today the migraines are few and far between but now I suffer with sinus headaches. I sympathize with you.
I love your card!! It is so soft and serene. The stamped images are perfect, as is the DP! TFS
Glad to hear you’re feeling better. My DH gets headaches like that all the time so I sympathize. This card is so pretty! My favorite part is how you only used the outline stamp a couple of times. It’s neat how something so subtle adds so much.
Glad you are feeling better. My oldest daughter gets headaches like that-she just has to wear them out.
Love your card and especially the striped dp-so pretty. I need to order some more River Rock cs before it is gone-I like it really well.

I’m glad your headache is better, those are the worst. The colors of your card are so soft and pretty, perfect for a sympathy card. There’s nothing like plain ol’ stamping, is there?
What a beautiful card. I love the soft colors you chose and the images too.
- Sorry to hear of your headache. I get what are called, Ocular Migraines (http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions/ocular-migraine.htm)
and the only thing I’ve ever found that helps is (Aleve) the Excederin Migraine didn’t work at all for me. They say you should document what you were doing ,eating etc..before each occurence.
They can be triggered by a number of things such as (Stress, Caffeine, Monthly Cycle) to name a few. Anyway I hope you are feeling much better now.
Glad you are feeling better! This card is just gorgeous! I love the colors and the subtleness of it! Very elegent!
Beautiful and soft card. I’m sorry you are not feeling well. I feel your pain with those migraines.
very pretty colors and stamping, lovely, soothing card!
Gorgeous Leslie, hate those headaches and I do know what you mean.
WOW; very soothing; great word for it. It’s just elegant; love it!!
Beautiful card.
Lovely card, Leslie. While admiring it, I realized what a comforting card this would be for a man. Hope you have a good day tomorrow.
A lovely sympathy card! Hope you feel better! Deb
This is so very soft, lovely and soothing — a perfect sympathy card — just love it!!! Great color scheme!!!
Loved the pic’s yesterday. Our drought in NC has made it impossible to grow beautiful flowers like that (& even grass). But I had to take a moment to tell you how much I like the sympathy card your created…It is very calming and soothing, and I love it. The colors are perfect. Hope you are feeling better.
Very pretty card. I also used to get headaches like that - mine would last for days - not fun at all. Now, however, I take Topamax regularly (prescribed by my Dr) and this helps immensely and now the headaches are VERY few and far between. Glad you are feeling better. I know that nothing helped me before - Tylenol, Excedrin, Aleve - I might as well have eaten candy….. Good Luck.
Leslie this is beautful - masterfully balanced. Very soothing. So sorry to hear about the headache - glad it’s gone!
Beautiful and comforting card. That is a soothing color palette!
Beautiful card, Leslie! I love the softness of it! I’m so glad you’re better.
How soothing! I love the soft colors!
This is so soft and beautiful!! Such a perfect sympathy card, Leslie!!
