Whipper Snapper Weekend

Published by leslierich at 2:00 am under Cards

I’m besotted with the new Halloween sets Anna Wight designed for Whipper Snapper!  After I made my first card with them I couldn’t wait to make the next several and then time got away from me…I didn’t do much stamping this week…lots going on…end of summer activities.  How sad to see the summer go but the new season has lots to look forward to, not the least of which is the chance to slow down a little.  Hmmmm…I wonder when that’s going to happen?

I did find time today to make this card with its very simple stamping and a little fun in the design.

Cats on the Prowl Aug08

The Spooky Expressions set is all about Halloween sentiments and sayings but there are some pretty darn cute images in it, too.  I just love those toothy grins!

Cats Prowl Close Aug08I used two coordinating sheets of designer paper and punched 1 3/8″ circles from the design in one of the sheets.  The cats are positioned so the pattern in the paper gives the impression of hair standing up on their backs.  They’re all mounted on little cut up pieces of foam mounting tape and the white outline helps them to stand out a little more, too.

The Fun Fibers and star snaps make their appearance every year at Halloween but the scallop border is my new Martha Stewart punch I hope to use often.  Isn’t it great to have all these fun things to play with?

I hope you’re having a good Labor Day Weekend.  This is the big one that wraps up the summer so I’m going to try to make the most of it.  Enjoy!

Now that’s a grin even a Cheshire cat would envy! Your trimming skills are par excellence, Leslie. Your cats are trimmed to perfection and I adore your choice in DP and periwinkle fibers. I must confess, I too, am smitten with Anna Wight’s designs. TFS. Happy Labor Day weekend.
