Pretty as a Pig in Pink
This is not the card I expected to post today, but Libby issued a challenge and I couldn’t resist. We have until Thursday before her next challenge comes along so if you’d like to see what in the world inspired this eye-popping number, please check here. It has nothing to do with pigs…
However, I had this Hambo pig (shall I call her Hametta?) already watercolored and set to go on another background. She was a birthday gift from Libby who knows how I love to color and how I need to have utter uninhibited fun with my stamping once in a while. Oh, my goodness, Libby — I did have fun with this one! What I had planned for her was dull in comparison, so thank you many times over!
The colors and the background are as close as I could come to the inspiration piece. It’s the Stampin’ Up! Happiness background. I know, it’s not even retired! I think I love it! I embossed it in black and colored with markers. The sentiment, which I just had to use for my Hametta, is something old from Art Impressions. The rhinestones and oval Nesties are from Flourishes. Her flower is covered with Stardust Stickles.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing something completely different but it was just as much fun in its own way. I hope you had a great weekend! See you soon!
- Stamps: Hambo Pig, SU! Happiness Background, Art Impressions sentiment
- Paper: Whisper White, watercolor, Basic Black, Pixie Pink, Lavender Lace
- Ink: Versamark, Jet Black Stazon, SU! markers for watercoloring and coloring of background
- Accessories: Ribbon, rhinestones, Stardust Stickles, black embossing powder, Spellbinders oval Nestabilities, ticket corner punch, word window punch, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Love this happy Pig! This card is so cheerful! Love the paper! Very nice layout! Love your coloring so much!
Oh my gosh, this is just too cute — I LOVE how you’ve so softly colored the pig — way beautiful for a pig — LOL!! And that b/g paper is too fun — and it so closely mimics the close-up photo of Courtney’s outfit — great job on this!!!! Nice to see you having fun!!! We love it!!! Go and have some more fun to share with us!!!

WOW Leslie, what a fabulous card! I too have this BG stamp and had many idea’s for it but never wanted to use it until now!
I LOVE how you embossed it in black and then colored in the other parts!! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!!
Have a wonderful week, Hugs Jennifer
OMGosh!!! I’m a Stampin’Up! demonstrator and I REALLY hate to admit this - but I have NEVER - NOT ONCE - noticed this background stamp. It must have held absolutely no appeal to me because I obviously glance right past it each time I’ve looked through the catty. Now however, after seeing your FANTASTIC card it is a MUST HAVE! Look what you’ve made me do!!!!! Love the pig too.
This is amazing! WOW! I just aodre the colors! SO fun!
Very cute and I love the coloring of your sweet little piglet!
Don’t normally like the brights but this card is toooo cute. I will have to dust off the happiness stamp and use it but wish I had hametta.
Love all your cards.
What a way to let loose Leslie! I love what you’ve done with “Hametta” — and it fits Libby’s challenge just perfectly.
So I finally got a chance to play catch up on blogs. I didn’t realise I haven’t seen yours since your christmas cards and box post. They’re all great. I love your Christmas box. And the cards that go with it.
The baby card is adorable, and I love your piggy card. The black background really makes it.
Oh so adorable!!!!!
Leslie, this is too cute for words. I have to tell you I know from where you come about creating. It is so much more fun when it is doing it on your terms and creativity. Your artwork is just fantastic. Love this card! It sings just like the song!
Leslie, this is just adorble! I LOVE your *pretty pink Hametta*! Fabulous job on the BG, layers for framing and that gorgeous hot pink ribbon! Perfect sentiment, too! How fun–glad to see you really enjoying your stamping!
Hee, hee, hee…so cute!! I love the bright colors (and, of course, the happy pig)!
What a wonderful and cute image! You colored her perfectly! Love the sentiment and bg too-adorable!
