Playful Christmas
Finally, I stamped! I was beginning to wonder if I would finish my Christmas cards but I had so many other things to do — shopping, wrapping, decorating, cleaning, candy making . . . I decided to put the stamping on hold while I caught up with those other things.
Today, I pulled out my Kitchen Sink Stamps Playful Christmas and made a couple of cards with it. I had “snow” much fun with this first card! I layered a rolling hills background with my BasicGrey Figgy Pudding paper and edged the layers with glitter. The trees were all stamped with Mellow Moss ink, then overstamped with the various patterns and colors. The tree tops are all glittered, too, and so is my entire stamp room, my clothes, my hair . . . you know how that goes.
The foremost tree is popped up on foam mounting tape. Notches cut with a hole punch will help keep the silver cord in place as the card slips in and out of the envelope. The card base is Cool Caribbean and the sentiment is stamped in Bravo Burgundy.
This card isn’t nearly as sparkly, but it has rhinestones, a Cuttlebug Snowflake embossed background and a Martha Stewart punch border. More Figgy Pudding paper, too. These trees were stamped directly onto Shimmery White without stamping the solid base first. I love the versatility of the many trees in this set.
The cardstock and ink colors are Bravo Burgundy and Kiwi Kiss — a little different, but I like it. After I made the first card I was dazzled by all the glitter and I thought this one was somewhat plain, poor thing, but it grew on me.
I need to get back to work on those “other” things now, but more cards are coming soon. Yes, they’re Christmas cards. The last of them will be in the mail on Monday and I hope they reach their destination before the 25th. I vow to be more timely next year.
I hope you’re enjoying the countdown days till Christmas! Happy holidays!

Both cards are phenomenal. Love all the dimension on both, and of course you gotta love all things “bling”. Your work is always “off the charts” gorgeous…thanks so much for sharing!
Happy Holidays!
Bravo, Leslie! Your card takes my breath away. It’s such a happy card and it just makes my heart sing. It’s sooo very pretty. Merry Christmas, my friend.
Brilliant! If I hadn’t just finished all my cards yesterday I’d be using both of these for inspiration for sure. Especially the glitter card. Just gorgeous.
Both beautiful cards! Love the simplicity yet the elegance of your creations!
Wow, Leslie, I love your cards. The rolling hills are such a neat effect - I love them! And your second card doesn’t look plain because your embossed snowflakes took care of that. Both of these are very appealing cards. Thanks for sharing at such a busy time.
Leslie,
These are by far my favorite of all your holiday cards. They are GORGEOUS! Well done!
Know the feeling-I finished addressing some cards last night to go out Monday. These were mostly store bought cards as I think I can decipher who would appreciate home made and who wouldn’t. Like both of your cards but especially the last one-pretty. tfs
Oh, how I’ve been trying to use this Playful Christmas set, but no luck so far. I hope you will inspire me, because I LOVE these cards you designed with it! Your glittery rolling hills background/scene is brilliant, and the second card is such a elegantly festive treat for the eyes! Linda
Leslie, I love your snow scene, so pretty. Yes tis a busy time of year, but one of my favorite.
Beautiful cards - both of them! My “favorite stamper” keeps changing, but as of today, you might be the one! I love your style.

I have left you an award on my blog because you have inspired me to do creative and clean cut cards. You do wonderful tutorials and I appreciate your work.
Leslie, Both of these cards are designed beautifully. What a creative genius you are! Since I didn’t get my cards made this year I am saving a copy of these to inspire me for my future cards.
Both of these are FANTASTIC!! I love your trees!! And the sparkly hills on the first one are beautiful!! Love the colors, bling and embossing on the second one also!! WOW!!
How pretty and sparkly! I love the Figgy Pudding hills.
Oh, Leslie…I love both of these!! Those tree images are so fun!! I love your sparkly hills of snow and pretty papers on your first card, and your texture, edging, and bling on the second!! Wonderful cards!!
These cards are wonderful! Tree stamps are so cute! I love the snow hills you created! And of course the glitter too! I know what you are talking about! When I use a glitter I am like a Chrismas tree - all in sparkles! Love your idea with the notch for the ribbon! Your second card is so pretty too! I love the embossed background and rhinestones!
Two fabulous designs, Leslie! I love the glittered hills on the first card! (I chuckled a bit about the glitter being everywhere. That stuff sticks to everything!) I love the embossing and punched bottom on the second card. Those Martha Stewart punches are fabulous!
LOVE these KSS tree cards, Leslie! I hope you and Rich have a blessed and very happy Christmas!!
Awesome cards! I love that set of stamps. I don’t own it, but I should get it for next year. I love your style.
LOVE these trees — they are SO FUN!!! That first card is a true winner — oh my — I LOVE how you did the rolling hills with the glittery snow — I am surely going to snatch that idea from you sometime soon — it is TOO GOOD not to replicate!!!! Just love the colors/patterns/prints you’ve used on both cards!!! TFS!!!
