Celebrate with Cake

Published by leslierich at 2:00 am under Cards

Flourishes’ new Birthday Celebrations set came just in time for a friend’s January birthday.  I’m afraid I acted out my own cake fantasy when I colored all that chocolate frosting.  I hope she doesn’t mind.  I suppose she could imagine it as apple or spice cake but, for me, it will be chocolate.

Choco Cake Jan09

The cake is colored with Prismacolor markers, cut out and popped up on dimensional foam tape.  I used a glitter pen to add sparkle to the frosting, but it’s not showing in the photo.  The white circle mat is stamped with one of the rings from this JustRite set.  All those black accents which look like brads are actually rhinestones, and the colorful paper is BasicGrey Urban Prairie.

The rest of the details are in the card recipe, listed below.  This is a record-short post for me as I’m very pressed for time at the moment.  I’m sorry to rush off like this, but I think I’ve covered all the basics.  I’ll be back as soon as I possibly can!  See you then!

  • Stamps:  Birthday Celebrations, JustRite Harmony Classic II Ensemble
  • Paper:  Basic Black, So Saffron textured, Neenah Classic Solar White, BasicGrey Urban Prairie
  • Ink:  Palette Noir, Prismacolor markers
  • Accessories:  Ribbon, rhinestones, Spellbinders dies, scallop circle punch, Prima flower, glitter pen, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Darling card, Leslie. I love the URban Prairie line and particularly the way you enhanced it with the B&W polka dot ribbon. That cake looks downright decadent too!
