One Stamp Wednesday
I’ve decided to devote Wednesdays to one-stamp cards — one postage stamp, that is. In so doing, I’ll create a stash of cards I can reach for quickly, without that little hesitation — is this one stamp or two? 59¢? 62¢? Hand cancel, please? What in the world is the price of postage now, anyway? It’s forever increasing but, regardless of the cost, I’ll keep on sending handmade cards. They’re just too special.
I love this Anna Griffin Rose Basket image. It’s colored with Prismacolor markers, and the Stampin’ Up! sentiment is embossed. Using designer papers for layering helped to minimize weight. The main image panel is raised on foam mounting tape, and the bow is adhered to the mat beside it so it lays nearly flush with the raised panel. The taffeta ribbon makes a soft, low profile knot, indiscernible under a cardstock panel in the envelope.
It’s all ready to go, lightweight and bulk free and not too many compromises made in the design. I’m comfortable with it. Wishing you a beautiful day!
Stamps: Anna Griffin Rose Basket for All Night Media, Stampin’ Up! sentiment — Heard from the Heart Paper: River Rock, Whisper White, retired SU! designer paper Ink: Palette brown, Versamark, Prismacolor markers for coloring Accessories: Ribbon, embossing powder, Spellbinders Labels 1 dies, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

This is just beautiful! So elegant.
What a lovely card you’ve made Leslie! Your coloring is sheer perfection, I love the lights and darks in the flowing ribbon and the way the “light” dances in the cut crystal vase, not to mention the glow of the rose petals and leaves. This is another winner and best of all, it’s a “one-stamp” card. What more could a girl ask for?
This is so beautiful! I always love when you use this Anna Griffith image…and I love it with the Heard from the Heart sentiment. I agree about trying to keep my cards to “one postage stamp” cards. That’s why I love the taffetta ribbon…wish they made it in more colors! Thanks again, Leslie, for another beauty to inspire me! Cheryl
What a beautiful image! With your colouring, it doesn’t need anything else, it’s gorgeous on it’s own!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Love the color combo.
Lovely, lovely card. Wonderful coloring. Will look forward to your one-stamp cards. I seem to always get far too much heavy, bulky stuff on mine.
Such Beautiful coloring and colors in this card. Most of my cards are mailed, and it is getting expensive to mail so I will look forward to these posts for inspiration since I try to make mostly 1 stamp cards…
This is gorgeous, Leslie!! Of course I love your beautiful coloring, and I also love your strips of patterned papers and use of your Nesties. I am a lover of Tafetta ribbon as well, and appreciate your “One Stamp Tips”. Thank you!
another pretty card always love your coloring your the queen LOL

I love your card.. you do brilliant work Leslie! And your coloring is to die for! Several discussions on the international card making groups I’m a member of have revolved around ways to reduce postage cost. In several of the groups, we’ve tried creating smaller cards, 4 inches square. They are a challenge to create but a whole lot of fun too. I’ve put together 2 template sheets for some of the 4 inch card variations if anyone is interested:

anyway, I just wanted to compliment you on your work and thank you for exploring this concept of making beautiful cards that don’t take a ton of money to mail.

Hi Leslie,
This is such a beautiful card! I think I’ll play along with your One Stamp Wednesdays too! The postage thing drives me nuts and it would be really nice to have cards that I don’t have to be concerned about the postage for! Also, I really enjoy visiting your blog and watching you learn to color with Prismas. I’m doing the same thing and enjoy seeing someone else use the same medium and do it so well! Thank you!
It’s gorgeous! I love the subtle shading you have done around the flowers and at the base of the image.

Such a beautiful card!! Your coloring is gorgeous - the flowers appear to glow. Love the DP layers, too. I have this same stamp and love it, too.
Leslie, this is just gorgeous. Your coloring and shading are spectacular!
This is beautiful! I love your colors.
Absolutely beautiful! Love the brilliant coloring of the flowers and basket!! You used some very pretty papers for your layers. I would say this is definitely a one stamper. Beautiful (again).
Incredible! Wish I could come and learn to color with you…your coloring is awesome. Love the stamp…but your design around it is amazing!
Beautiful job Leslie!! That’s one gorgeous card and I simply love the stamp you’ve used. I so admire how you can take something so normal and make it over the moon elegant!!
Amazing card Leslie, your coloring is so beautiful!! I could only wish that this card would end up in my mailbox!!
Have a wonderful week, Jennifer
Pretty card! I love that image and how vibrant the colors are.
What a grat idea……..stamping without too much bulk
Your coloring is so incredible that is nice to not take too much attention away from your gorgeous main image. TFS
WoW, again such a marvellous piece of work!! Your colouring is out of this world! I really enjoy visiting your wonderful blog:)
Have a happy day.
Yvonne.
Oh… How gentle… Just love the soft colors! Your fantastic coloring… Love it so much, Leslie!
So beautiful Leslie! What a great idea as well– mailing cards can be a challenge– it would be great to have a stash ready to go!!!
Beautiful Leslie!!
Your cards are always the best! I need to start making 1-stamp cards! It’s hard to keep piling on the embellishments but it gets costly!
Love the card, Leslie.
I have a generous collection of Prismacolor markers. I know you put a lot of time and work into making cards and creating your blog. Occasionally, would you consider listing the Prisma marker numbers, Please?
Beautiful! This is wonderful and you created it perfectly for the *postage* people. hee hee
Very pretty! Love the image and the bright lovely colors!
What a great concept! I look at so many cards and it will take a box to send them, 90% of my cards are mailed so I love this….hey found out as long as it will SMOOSH .
A beautifully classic *leslierich* card!!! I love your FABULOUS coloring on this image — just so beautiful!!! I too am more into 1 stamp cards of late and oh yes, the prices do get so confusing — moreso now than EVER!!!
Oh, I love this - the image, the coloring and the layout! And what a great idea for a weekly project. These days I’m very much preferring the “flat” cards for ease and economy of mailing. But then I keep looking around at all the cool “lumpy-bumpy” stuff I’ve accumulated, and wonder when I’m going to get around to using it! Sigh. Linda
