Happy Bouquet

Published by leslierich at 2:00 am under Cards

WSAnnaVase1Sept09I entered my stamp room this weekend not certain what would come out with me, but knowing I wanted to stamp something.  Having a blog does alter my perspective on stamping.  I wonder what my reason would be for blogging about any particular card.  Really, I just wanted to stamp and I felt like making something pretty and feminine, something with a little lift to it.  Something that would lift my spirits.

I looked among my SU! stamps, my clear stamps, and my unmounteds.  Hmmmm…nothing connected.  I decided to browse my scrap basket.  And there it was…the image I wanted to color.  It’s an Anna Wight design for Whipper Snapper.  I know exactly when I stamped this image — February 2008.  I stamped two, colored one, and this one has been waiting all this time.

When I stamped this image over a year ago, I had not yet purchased my first Prismacolor markers, or Spellbinders dies, or any of the delicious PTI cardstocks and ribbons.  I used all of those items on this card.  We’ve become good friends in no time at all!

Another good friend is the Bow Easy which helped make such a pretty little bow.  You can find the Bow Easy here, and a tutorial on how to use it here.  Many of my bows, however, I still make the old-fashioned way — just hand tied.   There’s a great bow tying video tutorial here.  I hope this helps those who have asked how I make my bows.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I love having visitors.  Take care until we can get together again!

Stamps:  Whipper Snapper, SU! sentiment  Paper:  PTI Sweet Blush and Berry Sorbet, Whisper White, Chatterbox designer paper  Ink:  Basic Black, Prismacolor markers for coloring  Accessories:  PTI Ocean Tides satin ribbon, linen thread, brads, Spellbinders Long Rectangle and Scalloped Heart dies

OMgosh, beautiful card…… I’ve actually had my Bow Easy for quite a while (like a year). I now love it, since one day the ‘lightbulb’ went off and now….. I’m thinking how did I ever do without, lol.

Love your coloring and that card just made me sit back and say “wow”. :-)

    Leslie,

Thank you for making this … felt it was made just for me from a wonderful friend!
I love the little scalloped heart tag — it is so endearing!! Did you attach this tag with the linen thread? I tried to look up close but not sure. Seems as though the linen thread is colored the same as that beautiful ribbon the sweet bow is made from!! Where do you find linen thread? Trust me, I have looked in stores around here but have not been able to find it. Would you share with me where I might locate some colored linen thread?

Keep up your wonderful creations and thank you so much for sharing!!!

Very elegant, and I love the sentiment and
the fact that you placed it on a heart.
    Makes it even more special!
