Worn Out Wally

Published by leslierich at 12:50 am under Other Fun Stuff, Wally

Hello and happy Monday!  I’d planned to have a stamping post today, but we were too busy wearing out Wally (and ourselves in the process) and I didn’t make time to photograph my cards.  I could kick myself for forgetting my camera for Wally’s big day up the river — I’m such a bad Mom!  I thought I’d share some “after” photos, though.  You can probably see how much he’s grown and changed.  Where, oh, where did that little puppy go in such a short amount of time?  He’ll always be a sweet, fuzzy baby to my eyes… you know how moms are.

Wally spent quite a lot of time falling in the water today… not so much time swimming.  Not to worry, it wasn’t very deep.  He hasn’t developed a retriever’s love of the water yet.  Gee, I thought we could just throw a stick and he’d jump right in after it, but I guess that will come along just like everything else he’s learned so far.  He’s such a sweet, lovable, good little guy.  Gosh, he sleeps hard after all that exercise!  Here, he’s slipped down between two ottomans in front of our sofa, oblivious to the world.

But this is what he looked like when the pizza arrived — hopeful.

However, like a good little boy, he’s learned not to beg when we’re eating, and his way of dealing with that is to nap through our meals.

Poor little worn out Wally.  He did liven up long enough to play with his squeaky for a while, but then he was right back to snoozing.  Tomorrow will bring more adventure and discovery.  All of life is new and exciting for a three month old.  I hope you had a great weekend, too.  Thank you for dropping in on us!

I’m so glad you shared some photos of Wally. Gee, he has really changed and grown. But, still such a cutie.

What a cutie pie he is!

What a cutie! They grow so fast…into awkward, gangly, trouble-making adolescents. That’s weird about the water, though. Our Hoover loved it from the start. I never knew that Goldens have webbed paws until I saw his spread out under water as he paddled around. Amazing.

That’s about as cute as it gets.

Awww… He looks like he is so tired, but sounds like he had a good time. He is too cute. We are thinking about getting a german shephard at our house. eek…never had a dog since we have been married, the boys want a dog. well they sorta want a dog, not the doggy do they say. lol Wish us luck on our decision.

Wow, this boy is really growing! How cute! So glad you’re enoying this furry member of your family. He’s adorable. Don’t you hate when you forget your camera! I’ve done that and been so mad at myself. Oh well, you still had a great time. Happy Monday.

Leslie, Wally is growing by leaps and bounds. You better stop blinking or you’ll miss it. He’s handsome as ever and looks to be sooo well behaved. You’re a good Mom to Wally. I so enjoyed this post and his wonderful photos. He looks so soft - I could just bury my face into his neck.

Leslie, keep sharing those moments with Wally. He looks so cute, adorable and loving. That puppy stage sure doesn’t last long. Glad you had a good time with him, too. You really can see that he is smiling at all his new adventures even though he is tired. i just love dogs. We have 2 female shelties who provide so much entertainment and love for us.
    Happy Week!

Wally is turning into a handsome young fellow! I’m glad he’s also turning out to be the sweet and loveable companion you hoped for. His good manners are a wonderful bonus, but I know that’s due to your vigilence. Well done! Linda

I also thought that our Golden would see the pool and do his thing. He was afraid of it at first. We had to train him how to get out, for safety reasons. Then he fell in love, at about 5 months, I’d say. Now we can barely keep him out.

Awww to cute! Love how tuckered out he looks. I’m such a sucker that he’d had his own slice of pizza if he looked at me with those puppy dog eyes.

Wow, he has gotten big! He’s so sweet! I am ready to head for obedience classes with Rosie…I am getting tired of listening to myself saying the same thing over and over and over…and my hubs will string me up if she keeps biting! Dang rambunctious puppy! Good thing she’s cute!!

I so love the pictures of Wally! And I LOVE his name - I am so naming my next doggie Wally. We have a golden Lab who is just a year old and when he was Wally’s age he would jump into the bathtub in our guest bathroom and bark until somebody turned on the tap for him. Then he would use his paw to push down the drain plug. When he had a couple of inches of water we would turn off the tap and he would stick his nose in the water and blow bubbles and then bark at the bubbles like he didn’t realize he was the one making them. All of which would throw my daughter into fits of giggles. Good times - he’s still very puppy-like in many ways but he doesn’t do that anymore! Enjoy every precious second of Wally’s puppyhood!

AHHHHH!!! I just love hearing about your adventures with Wally. He looks so soft and fluffy that I just want to kiss him on his soft little golden snout. He’s so cute. He sounds more adventurous than naughty. 10 yr. old Beasley hasn’t let up and we just had another baby wipe eating scare in which he passed out. He’s obsessed with eating such things. The vet calls it a fetish. Still love him! What would we do without dogs?

Oh…Wally!! He sure makes me smile every time I see him, and I’m so glad you have him in your life!! Thank you for sharing him with us, and your story behind the photos!!
