Wild Horses
In May, I borrowed the Bareback set to make a birthday card (here) and, when finished, I had a little scrap of the Saffron Flannel Plaid left over. I’m terrible about discarding any scrap which may be the least bit usable so I thought I’d try to manage another card with that scrap while I still had Bareback in my possession. I got as far as black embossing the horses and then the scrap went back into the scrap basket. Today, I have a finished card.
I wonder if he’ll notice it’s a leftover from his wife’s card? I rather expect not, but she’ll probably notice right away. Nevertheless, I’m glad I saved that scrap. As with the May card, I used no designer paper. Instead, I stamped Paisley Print in black on Close to Cocoa and added textured cardstocks and copper brads for a masculine look. I hope he likes it. I hope you like it, too.
It’s been a busy stamping week — much more than my usual. I’ll be back tomorrow with something pretty from Flourishes. Take care!
Stamps: Bareback, It’s Your Birthday, Flannel Plaid, Paisley Print (all Stampin’ Up!) Paper: Basic Black, Close to Cocoa smooth and textured, Old Olive textured, So Saffron textured, Whisper White Ink: So Saffron, Adirondack Pitch Black, Versamark Accessories: Copper brads, black embossing powder, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

This is a fabulous card!
Horses are one of my favorite images, I guess because I love them so much!!
These are just stunning, wild and free. I just love the beauty of a running horse.
You did a fabulous job, and the plaid looks awesome with everything else.
Loved the first card you made and like this one as well-great use of the scrap. I always wonder why I save scraps and some of them pretty dinky but ever now and then I find a good use for them..pays to be frugal!
Fabulous card! Great job of using up scraps.
Wonderful card for a man, Leslie! I love the black paisley on cocoa and rich textured cardstock! The stamping on the plaid is wonderful!
I love your card!! It’s soooo handsome - great colors, great design!
He will like it you funny girl!!!
Awesome masculine card Leslie, great use of the scrap too!!
Excellent male card. Love it.
This is cool and a great masculine card. heck this can even be for a girl with the hints of pinkish purple paper. Very simple and sweet! he won’t notice the scraps from her card, but she might. women are like that. lol
I just love your leftovers
Great layout, colors, textures, and brads….perfect for a guy card! TFS
Lovely card with a masculine flair — I love the pop of color against that pretty, deep paisley!
What an amazing card you’ve created with your “scraps”. Way to stamp your wonderful backgrounds as well! I need to do that more.
NICE!
Another great revival of an old set, and background stamps! That really is one of my favorite horse images. I love the design and colors. Very masculine indeed, but with a flourish. Nice touch with the large brads. Linda
