Weekend Wally

Published by leslierich at 1:40 am under Other Fun Stuff, Wally

We had one beautiful day over the weekend and it seemed like a good day for a swim.

My camera battery promptly went dead after the first few photos — no warning, no red battery icon, simply dead.  Wally didn’t mind, though.  Just tuck that camera away and climb the sand dune, hike the trail, explore the woods.  This pretty little lake is near our home, off the beaten path.  You can’t see it from the highway and no signs point in its direction.  Nobody knows it’s there but a few locals, and even then it’s not a busy place.  We had it all to ourselves on Saturday.

Across the lake, not pictured here (dead battery) is a sandy beach and steep sand dune.  Climb to the top for a magnificent view of the dunes, the ocean, and everything else as far as the eye can see.  And not a soul in sight.  It was a very good day.

I wish I had some better photos, but just wanted to share something of Wally before he’s full grown.  It’s happening so fast!  He’s still such a puppy and so sweet and lovable, but, my, he’s getting to be a big boy.

It’s been wet and cold since Saturday, so thank goodness for that one good day.  Good weather for staying home stamping but, of course, I’ve been at work…sigh…  Wishing you a beautiful day, regardless of the weather.  See you again soon!

Pups at this age are so funny! They look so improbable in their gangly adolescence. Thanks for sharing the pictures you did get.

Wally is definitely getting that “teenager” look about him. If you blink, they change, so keep taking those pictures! How lucky you are to have that secret lake nearby. Are there any fish in it? Linda

What a handsome boy! You can still see the “puppy” in his face even though he’s getting big. Thanks for sharing!! I’m living vicariously through you and Wally. I want a puppy so bad, but live in an apartment without room to run. Works fine with our old girl Lucy (beagle) but wouldn’t work with a pup…perhaps someday!

I think your photos are wonderful! What a beautiful place. Looks like that big boy enjoyed himself.

Looks so peaceful! I wish I could get my pup to stand still for a minute to take more pictures! She is growing so fast too! Thanks for sharing that handsome Wally!

Let’s see…I love your puppy!! I love your photography!! I love your own little private piece of heaven!!! But mostly I love how you love Wally enough to capture his wonderful developmental milestones, just like a human child!!! And of course they are for most of us “our children”…thanks so much!! Now, I am waiting to hear that Wally’s voice is changing, cuz he sure is hitting that adolescent stage!!! He is adorable!!

Thank you for sharing Wally with us….I have had a golden and wish for another….but at 71 andwith bad legs I know a Wally would about finish me off….it would not be fair to the dog. So I have to live vicariously through your photos and stores of Wally. He is a beauty…the perfect adolescent….still part puppy.

I love that you enjoy those moments with him AND that you share them with us. And I know that we all, in some way, have our little “off the beaten path” places locally, but it’s so much fun to hear about others’ places. Thanks so much for sharing.

I LOVE it when you post pics of Wally!!! He really is getting to be a big boy…so I am glad that you are capturing his younger days. I can tell just by reading your posts how much Wally has become a part of your lives…that little lake place is to die for…wish I could put my patio on it…LOL…Have a great weekend Leslie!!!

Love the pics of your outing with Wally. Wow, what a great spot, and to have it all to yourselves……that’s a treasure. He sure is growing but I’m sure very much a puppy at heart. Isn’t that fun! Thanks for sharing such a fun time.

Wow, he IS getting big fast!! Still cute as can be though! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous photos!

Oh that sweet, sweet baby boy! They grow up soooo fast, don’t they? You want them to stay little and snuggly forever with that round puppy belly and the sweet puppy breath. But Wally will be your BFF whether little or big. Both of my golden girls were big (90-100 lbs and not fat!) and still wanted to sit in my lap. LOL! I’ll be watching to see how big Wally gets. Thanks so much for sharing him with us. :)
